Bennie Gaskins Foundation for Impoverished Communities
Bennie Gaskins is from Bridgeboro, Georgia and started his mission work in 1995 in Haiti. Bennie has been living his life by God's will for decades starting with his first deacon-ship in 1956. Bennie started singing Gospel music in 1971 and has continued with several groups up until 2011. At the age of 78 (2011) Bennie was diagnosed with stage 3 cancer in his left lung and esophagus. After seeking treatment and prayers the cancer was short lived, but a year later (May 2012) it returned and Bennie was given a short time to live. After hearing this news Bennie decided to take yet another mission trip to Haiti with his son Jon and nephew Brian in order to continue to assist those in need. Bennie lived his life to the fullest until February 5th of 2015 when his cancer took him home. Bennie used his cancer to minister all over the Southeastern United States in ways to use your illness and cancer as a way to help others. Through this Foundation Bennie's life long dream of helping others in need can and will continue.
